Fulton is a small city of approximately 3.8 square miles located in the western portion of Oswego County in Central New York. It is approximately 8 miles to the south of the City of Oswego which is located on the shores of Lake Ontario, and approximately 20 miles to the north of the City of Syracuse. According to the 2010 census the population of Fulton was 11,896 at that time.
The City of Fulton Police Department is staffed 24 hours a day and has patrols around the clock.

The Fulton Police Department is located on the first floor of the Fulton Municipal Building located at 141 South First Street Futlon. Entrances are located on both sides of the building, the east side bordering S. First Street and on the west side bordering SR 481. Parking is located in a public lot along SR 481 south of the Official Vehicle Parking and in a small lot on the S. First St. side. On street parking is also available along S. First Street.
